Personnel Committee

The Personnel Committee may be considered the Human Resources Department of Texas State Organization. The committee addresses matters related to the employed personnel including the issuing of contracts and the monitoring of performance through evaluations. It makes recommendations concerning personnel policies to the Executive Committee and encourages good business practices. It is the responsibility of the committee to provide support for the employees, to keep the best people in the most useful positions and to offer the best working environment. Whenever a vacancy occurs in any of the employed positions, the committee advertises the position, screens the applicants, and recommends candidates to the Texas State Organization President who will seek Executive Board approval at the State Convention or by a mail/electronic vote.

TSO Headquarters Executive Assistant Position Open

The Texas State Organization Headquarters is a very busy place. Leesa Cole, Executive Secretary/Treasurer, and Vanessa Diggins, Bookkeeper, work diligently to manage the daily needs of the two businesses, Texas State Organization and Alpha State Texas Educational Foundation.

It is time to fill the third position of Executive Assistant that is open, yet unfilled. The twenty-four hour a week position is waiting for a collaborative, qualified, and eager TSO member who lives within driving distance of Headquarters. We would like to have a full complement of employees working to accomplish the work of TSO and ASTEF within this biennium. Give the Headquarters staff a vote of confidence and appreciation. Encourage those you know who possess the skills and knowledge of technology, professional interpersonal abilities, the understanding of business practices and the desire to work for the success of TSO and ASTEF to apply. The Personnel Committee is seeking candidates for the position of Executive Assistant. We encourage you to apply.
