achievement awards committee
Texas State Organization strives to recognize members who have given outstanding service to Delta Kappa Gamma at the state level. The recognition is given in the form of the Texas State Achievement Award and the Golden Rose Award. These awards are presented annually during the Texas State Organization Convention. Each award has different criteria and a specific nomination form. It is the responsibility of the Achievement Awards Committee to review completed nominations and to select the recipients for each award.
In order to qualify for the Texas State Achievement Award, a member must have served as a chapter president or vice president and completed two or more leadership roles at the state level. State leadership roles include state officer, state committee chair or co-chair, area coordinator, state convention chair or co-chair, and ASTEF president, vice-president or director. Additionally, the member should have been a workshop leader and have good attendance at chapter, area and state meetings. International attendance is also desirable.
The Golden Rose Award is designated for a member who is not eligible for the Texas State Organization Achievement Award, but has given years of service at the state level in leadership roles such as state committee member, presenter at area and state workshops, or script writer. This member should also have good attendance at chapter, area and state meetings, with International attendance desired. In most cases the nominee will have 25-30 years of membership in DKG.
Lists of past Gold Rose Award and State Achievement Award recipients can be found on the Historical Data page.
Completed nomination forms for both awards are available for submission on the Forms page. Both should be electronically submitted to the State Achievement Awards Chair by February 1 of each year.
